Buenos Aires, Argentina — September 5, 2026 On September 5, 2026, Buenos Aires played host to what is being called the largest Muay Thai event ever held in Argentina — and quite possibly one of the biggest gatherings dedicated solely to the sport anywhere in South America. Organized by the Liga Argentina de Muay Thai (LAMT) under the umbrella of the World Muaythai Organization (WMO) South America, the event brought together fighters, coaches, officials, and fans from across the continent for a full day of competition. It has been over a year now since the WMO promoted the first ever Muay Thai show on the small island of Timor-Leste. On the 23rd April 2017 the WMO and our Chinese partners Wings promoted the first Muay Thai show in Timor-Leste. We arranged a team of fighters from Thailand with Thai and International fighters from the USA, Argentina, Costa-Rica and Portugal as well as a team of fighters from Indonesia.
